Q1. Who is Anuschka?
Anuschka is Roma’s creation. She loved the name Anuschka, but she had already named her three children Bhaskar, Radhika and Priyanka. When she decided to share her love for art through handbags, her newest baby became Anuschka!Q2. Where and how are the Anuschka handbags made?
Anuschka bags are designed in USA by Bhaskar Basu. Bhaskar was taught by his mother, Roma, who continues to guide him today. They are then made in the family owned and operated workshop in India. Every Anuschka accessory starts with hand cutting the top grain leather and selecting the best pieces. Anuschka-trained artisans sketch and individually hand paint every piece. Traditional crafters who have learned the trade from generations before them use old school techniques to create tailor made pieces. Every handbag goes through multiple stages of inspection by our quality team to ensure that the art is perfect. A family member does a final review of every bag before it is hand signed and packed.Q3. What type of leather is used to create an Anuschka accessory?
Anuschka handbags are made of soft top grain cow nappa which is specially treated to work like a canvas for Anuschka art.Q4. How do I care for my Anuschka purse?
Please keep your Anuschka accessory protected from rain and snow. It needs to be treated like any other high grade leather accessory. If your hand painted Anuschka bag requires cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth to gently wipe over the painted areas. We recommend that you use theAnuschka Leather Protector which is a non-silicon based spray and has been specially developed to preserve the rich colors and the suppleness of the leather. Please do not use any off-the-shelf chemicals or cleaning solutions as Anuschka does not authorize or test them. Any damage to your Anuschka from the use of off-the-shelf leather care products will void your warranty.Q5. How well does the painted area hold up? Does it wear off easily?
Anuschka handbags age gracefully like good wine - they become vintage works of wearable art. With regular use the leather matures to feel even softer and develops a natural look like an old bomber jacket. Q6. How do I care for my Anuschka handbag if it gets wet?
The paint will not run if you get caught in the rain. Please do not let raindrops or snowflakes settle on the leather. Wipe it gently with a clean, soft cloth. Then allow the hand bag to dry in normal room temperature or sunlight. Do not use a hair dryer to dry your handbag. Please do not spray any chemicals to waterproof your Anuschka. Use of any unauthorized chemicals or solutions on the painted surface will void your warranty.Q7. How can I remove stains from my Anuschka handbag?
Given the delicate nature of the painting, we do not recommend using any chemicals to treat stains on the painted surface. Q8. Can I get my Anuschka refurbished?
We currently do not offer refurbishment of used handbags in our workshop.Q9. What is the Anuschka warranty policy?
Anuschka items have a limited warranty for one year for any manufacturing defects. Sale items are covered under a limited warranty for 30 days. You will need your original receipt for any warranty claims. For more details, please see our WARRANTY POLICY.Q10. How is Anuschka different from any other hand painted accessories in the market?
Anuschka is the only family owned and designed and ethically produced hand painted brand. We offer original artwork and unrivaled quality at an incredible value. We are the premier, original hand painted brand of hand painted accessories available at select boutiques and shoe stores across over 20 countries. Like every trend setting brand, we have our imitators but we can assure you that our product speaks for itself. Each Anuschka is hand cut and crafted from fine leather then individually painted, not by professional artists but by young men and women who have been trained by us and enjoy the benefits of our fair trade policies.
High grade leather, signature lining, branded hardware, original art, years of experience and excellent quality distinguish us from the counterfeits. Even today, a family member does a final check of every bag before hand-signing it.Q11. How can I avoid buying a knockoff?
When shopping online, buy directly from www.anuschkaleather.com
